The Laxmi-Narayan Temple or popularly known as Birla Temple, gets its namesake from a prominent Indian industrialist family, the Birlas. This is a recent addition to Jaipur, considering that the city is nearly 300 years old. Completed in 1998, it dons the white colour of amazing marble work. Visit the place for a religious experience and absorb the colour of devotion in white. Sit in the surrounding lush gardens on all sides and treat the eyes with the colourful flowers all in one place. Read the innumerable quotes chiseled in the walls while you lose yourself in the serenity of the place. Experience the rhythm of the soulful aarti during the evenings or mornings make all your stress wash away. There are several guides available here who can take you for a guided tour of the temple. Several shops in the temple complex sell idols of gods and goddesses and local handicrafts. There is also a museum that showcases ancestral artifacts belonging to the founder Birla family. Buy your favourite sweets that you want to offer to the gods from the Moti Dungri Shops at walking distance. Early morning and evening hours are also the perfect time to sit on the steps of the temple and enjoy the cool breeze especially in the summer days.
By Car / Cycle: The temple is not inside the old walled city. It's 2 kms straight down from Albert Hall (museum) on the JLN Road.
Public Transport: The nearest bus stop is JDA Circle
Be aware that marble gets unbearably hot during the peak sun. Best time to visit is during the cool evenings.
