Start your tour from Zurich Hauptbahnhof (main station) and follow this beautiful route through Zurich old city - along the river Limmat.

There are several parallel streets in and out of old city. You'll cross Grossmünster, Zurich Rathaus, Niederhof - which is a popular promenade of Zurich old town.

After reaching the Zurich lake at Burkliplatz, see the historic statue of Ganymed at the confluence of Limmat river and Zurichsee.

During your return trip, take the shopping street (Bahnhofstrasse) back to Zurich station.

Zurich is well connected with national and international trains. Once you get down at train station, look for the directions - Bahnhof Quai, cross the road to reach Limmat and start this beatufil historic walking route - meant for all ages.

The city of Zurich, a global center for banking and finance, lies at the north end of Lake Zurich in northern Switzerland. The picturesque lanes of the central Altstadt (Old Town), on either side of the Limmat River, reflect its pre-medieval history. Waterfront promenades like the Limmatquai follow the river toward the 17th-century Rathaus (town hall).
